Chamonix isn't just about being extreme on the slopes, there is a whole world of history, art  and culture to discover too. Even if you're not a culture vulture, there are exhibitions, museums and artisans which will have you enthralled.

Chamonix has a mountaineering heritage and sense of adventure which has been at the root of the resort for hundreds of years. The mythical setting at the foot of Mont Blanc inspires artists and craftsmen, many of whom hold exhibitions or open up their workshops to visitors and the museums tell the often surprising history of the town.
