Chamonix Trains in the Valley

Your comprehensive guide to Everything Chamonix

St. Gervais is the largest train station in the area that connects to the TGV train. From here, there is one line that goes to Chamonix, Vallorcine and through to Martigny in Switzerland. Taking the train from Chamonix to one of the lift stations is a good option, especially for the Flégère lift (stop at Les Praz), Grands Montets (stop at Argentière), and Vallorcine (stop at Vallorcine). Montroc is the closest station to Le Tour, but it is a fairly long walk up the road to the lift station, especially if there's a lot of snow, so it's generally better to take the bus to Le Tour, or the train to Vallorcine.
